A lash extension session lasts 1.5–2.5 hours. Throughout that time, the client lies with something adhered to their lower eyelids. It's important to note that the wrong tape or patches can cause irritation, redness or pressure sensation, making the session uncomfortable — regardless of adhesive quality and technique.

Three Tape Types with Different Adhesion Levels

Japanese white tape has minimal adhesion, produced specifically for the delicate skin around the eye — its gentle bond does not irritate the skin even after 2 hours of contact and removes without discomfort. Transparent tape has stronger adhesion — better for clients with more mobile lower eyelids or where more secure hold is needed. Paper tape sits between the two in adhesion strength — standard surgical tape, more widely accessible, a practical substitute when specialist options are unavailable.

It's important to note that tape is applied only to the skin of the eyelid — never directly to the lashes.

Patches vs Tape — Which System to Choose

Patches are pre-cut shapes with a built-in gentle adhesive, following the contour of the lower eyelid. They are faster to apply than tape and more comfortable for clients with sensitive or thin skin around the eye. Silicone patches are reusable — washed and reused between sessions. Isolation patches (single-use) have a soft adhesive only on their upper edge — for holding the isolated portion of lower lashes.

Adhesive Organisation — Stand or Ring

Adhesive stands are small single-use platforms placed on the working surface — the adhesive drop is placed on them. The adhesive ring is worn on the specialist's finger — the drop is on the hand, always within immediate reach. It's important to note that the ring requires more experience — with a warmer hand the adhesive may polymerise faster.

Single-Use Consumables

Micro brushes (100 pcs) are ultra-fine brushes for precise application of liquid products to a single lash. Spoolie brushes (50 pcs) are spiral-type — for combing through finished extensions after bonding.
