A lash extension tweezer is a precision instrument in surgical steel in which tip closure quality is more critical than any other characteristic. It's important to note that a tweezer with uneven closure cannot be compensated by technique — it physically limits the result.

Shop by category: curved tweezers, straight tweezers and tweezer sets. Read also: Russian volume vs classic lash glue.

Lash Extension Tweezers — Three Functions, Three Shapes

Choosing a lash tweezer is not a matter of preference — it follows function. It's important to note that within a single working session, a lash artist typically uses at least two different tweezer types: one for isolation, one for placement. Three core functions define three distinct shapes.

Straight Tweezer — for Isolation

The straight tweezer (I series) is used to separate natural lashes before the extension is applied. The straight form allows entry under a specific lash without disturbing the neighbours. It's important to note that in classic lashing, isolation is more critical than the application itself — a lash bonded to a neighbour causes constant irritation and triggers premature shedding.

Curved Tweezer — for Pick-Up and Placement

Curved tweezers (L and S series) are the primary tool for gripping the extension and placing it onto the natural lash. The L shape has a larger curve angle — giving a greater working distance between the hand and the face, preferred by artists with a larger hand or when working on clients with longer natural lashes. The S shape has a smaller angle — more compact, more precise in restricted space.

Volume Tweezer — for Fan Creation

Volume tweezers (5 mm, 7 mm, 10 mm) are specialist instruments for volume lashing techniques. The number denotes the width of the smooth inner section of the tip used to fan and hold the cluster. It's important to note that 5 mm suits 2D–4D volume, 7 mm suits 5D–8D and above, and 10 mm suits mega-volume and nano techniques — the wider inner section holds a larger fan before it is bonded.

Specialist Tips

Triple Grip features a textured inner tip surface — enhancing fan grip in volume work and reducing the risk of dropping. Anatomic features an ergonomic handle that reduces wrist strain during extended sessions. Diamond offers high tip closure precision for delicate work with fine lashes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check the closure quality of a tweezer?

Close the tweezer slowly toward a light source and inspect the tip — there should be no gap or asymmetrical contact. It's important to note that a new tweezer must be tested before use on a client.

L or S — which shape should I choose?

L is more universal and more widely used. S suits work in confined spaces or with clients with shorter natural lashes. The choice depends on working style — many artists use both.

Must tweezers be sterilised between clients?

Yes. Surgical steel tweezers are sterilised in an autoclave between clients. It's important to note that alcohol disinfection does not replace autoclave sterilisation for instruments in contact with skin.
